Warm Cider - Worsted Weight
Warm Cider - Worsted Weight
Hand-dyed 2-ply Worsted weight - 100% Canadian Wool - 200 yards - 100g
Our wool is grown + processed in Canada by a small family-operated mill, using traditional methods. This natural + chemical-free way of processing the wool, allows it to retain its natural lanolin + rustic beauty.
Please keep this in mind when you purchase yarn for a particular project, taking care to get enough. Also, because these colours are hand-dyed, there will be variations between skeins, so we recommend that you alternate when knitting larger projects.
We hope you will see the magic that each skein holds, the labour of love that has gone into creating each small batch and the beauty in knowing you are making something truly one of a kind.
About the wool-
This wool is a blend of different breeds that contain (but are not limited to) Suffolk, Dorset, Cheviot, Arcott and Corriedale from sheep that are raised on Canadian farms.
The yarn is then processed completely chemical-free in a small family-operated mill, and delivered to our shop here on the West Coast of Vancouver Island.
Once it arrives, it is then either left completely natural or dyed using salt water from the Salish Sea and locally harvested plants, extracts or other raw materials.
Any dyes that can not be sourced locally are only purchased from suppliers who produce ethical, sustainable and fair-trade products.
There is very little processing involved, so the yarn retains its rustic beauty.
